IMHO:

This guy, whoever he is (Hmm, I wonder), is probably someone who learned it from someone else and is reading their instructions on how to do it every time he does it. If he was the one who re-discovered it, I'd seriously think he'd be smart on how to use it. His name is enough to imply that he's nothing but an attention seeking little pike. This will only end badly for him, as Arenanet will ban him, and most likely fix the exploit.

Now, since that's overwith, I say we move the discussion to a far more valuable topic, such as the rebalancing of the mesmer, and the much needed Spiteful Spirit move to Domination Magic.

2. When ANet bans you, do they ban your account + IP?

1. I think you can, not sure never been on a trial account myself.

2. I would think not, since more than one people can play on the same IP addy, and also the people ANet bans would end up buying new account = More money for ANet, wouldn't be very business smart to IP ban from that standpoint

Yeah, like a good little sheep that doesn't want my account hacked or w/e, I have no idea what he is capable of, so I post here. Also I figure people should be aware of it, and if it is posted here ANet will probably fix it faster =P

He works with your client, he could crash an instance, but he can't crash all of AB at once. Well.. unless he has other tricks up his sleeve

He absolutely could, if he can indeed push packets back at the server that process it to every client.

He could enter AB and crash the teams on the server he is on.

Agreed... If he has an in... then he can exploit whatever. I am honestly surprised that he is taking this course of action. Buffer overflows are normally the first thing any hacker checks for and normally the first thing that never works. I am curious to see where this is going to go.

That means it HAS to be a chat-text overflow. He probably is using a mod to send a huge text packet to your client. The normal GW client won't allow that.

If that's the case, he could:

Crash everyone in the district by talking on LOCAL.
Crash everyone in the guild by talking on GC.
Crash everyone in the alliance by talking on AC.
Crash any individual player by PMing them.

I smell a ban coming.....

I still have to agree with Flubber. Sunder and the hacker are the same person. Everytime someone in the thread accuses him he replies with "Who me? Noo, I'm innocent. Honest. It wasn't me. Really! You believe me don't you?"

Think what you want, The only reason I get upset at all is cause I don't like be accused of things I haven't done. And honestly, if I *was* the hacker, why would I even post on the forum, it's just common sense that Gaile or whoever could easily obtain my IP from the guru mods and track it in the game... Thats why crime-doers always have a buffer, I just so happened to have opened my mouth in Shing Jea to call him out for his spouting and he crashed me, so yeah... I'll do what he says cause I like playing GW
